Sounds good! Actually it sounds horrific, but in a good way. If that is even possible. Far too much waste in the world, so go for it. I can’t say I won’t buy ANY clothes this year, but I promise to make more considered purchases. Cross my heart etc etc.

‘Horrific but in a good way’ is absolutely how I’d describe it. Apparently by the end of the year I’ll find it very easy and my crack cocaine-like desire for clothes will have vanished. I’m all for that.

OMG I couldn’t do that, well maybe I could for a month… nah I couldn’t do it for a month. Gosh I’m weak!!!

Well maybe I could try for one month then see how the next month goes no promises tho ooh I am weak.

I’ll do it!! I can only fit into about 1% of my wardrobe at the mo. Trying to lose weight so why the hell not give this a whirl too :-/ xx

Beth – this is fantastic news! Stay in touch and we’ll all support each other. It’s bound to get hard at times. I think we all rock. x

Brilliant, and well done! Sounds totally scary in every way, but will probably be empowering at the same time. I have definitely made more considered purchases over the last year or two, as I have a real problem with the waste ‘thing’. I even managed to go through with returning a gorgeous bag that my Mr bought me for my birthday because I just didn’t need another bag…and ended up with a raincoat that has absolutely fitted the bill for the last month or so of dire weather – result! Plus…think of all the money you’ll save.

Thanks for the admiration Lucy – I’m proud of myself 🙂 I did stop all clothes buying including charity shops and friends buying for me. BUT I allowed myself to use up any material, wool, buttons etc. I had to embellish or make new clothes. What’s fun is that you start looking at those clothes you haven’t worn for ages and see how you can wear them in a different combo or change them so they do work. It’s easy if you think it’s going to be easy and it is easy. Just praise yourself a lot and laugh!!!

Ah, and this, ladies and gents, is the amazing woman who inspired me to do it. I bloody wish she hadn’t. But am bloody glad she did.
